About
Central Education Renewal Zone
In 2003 the Arkansas General Assembly established Education Renewal Zones across the state to promote collaboration among public schools, education service cooperatives, colleges and universities, as well as parents and community members.
The Central Education Renewal Zone (ERZ) was created in 2005 to address specific needs of some schools within the Little Rock School District and the Magnolia School District. Since that time, some schools within the Pulaski County Special School District have been added; some have been dropped within the Little Rock School District; and additional schools have joined from within the Magnolia School District. Located on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, the Central ERZ’s mission is to work with partner schools, the educational co-ops, students, parents, business, and the community to ensure that each student acquires the knowledge, skills, and core values necessary to achieve personal success and to enrich the community. Centralizing resources allows schools in the Central ERZ to access instructional, financial, cultural, and technological support.
